Salon Reception Desks & Waiting Furniture

The reception desk is the first thing a client sees and the last thing they stand at before they pay. It is also the piece most likely to be bought on looks and regretted on measurements.

This collection holds 11 reception desks and 6 customer chairs. The desks run from a compact suite-sized front table at 475 dollars up to a 2,625-dollar full-width counter, mostly Mayakoba, in widths from 38.5 inches to 74 inches. Several carry built-in LED lighting, several carry glass retail display fronts, and the working details differ more than the photographs suggest: leg well width, drawer count, whether the top cabinet locks and whether it has a payment slot.

We deliver nationwide, with freight calculated at checkout. Carrying the finish through the floor? See salon furniture and the build-out packages.

Buying guide: Salon Reception Desks & Waiting Furniture

Measure the entry first

Every other decision here is downstream of one number: how much wall you have at the front of house.

The desks in this collection span a wide range. The Sonoma II display desk runs 38.5 inches wide. The standard Sonoma and the white and gold NAPA are 60 inches. The Avon I is 58.75 inches. The largest, the Sonoma with mosaic tile, is 74 inches of full-width counter and is meant to anchor the whole front of a wide entry.

Heights cluster between 42 and 46 inches, which is standing-transaction height. Depths run roughly 19.5 to 22 inches.

Take the tape to the wall before you shortlist. Then subtract the door swing and the walking lane.

Retail display or clean counter

This is a real revenue decision, not a styling one.

A glass display front turns the space under the counter into merchandising at the exact point where every client stands to pay. The Sonoma with glass display carries a 30-inch glass front over a 37 by 23 inch lit display interior. The Sonoma II brings the same idea to a compact retail-forward counter. The Avon I combines a glass retail display with a grey marble counter and cabinet storage behind.

A clean counter keeps the entry minimal and is the right call if you do not sell retail or if your product sits on wall shelving. The standard Sonoma and the Nova I take that route.

If you do sell retail, buy the display. Stock sitting behind the desk does not sell itself.

The front-desk details that get overlooked

Photographs sell the front panel. The receptionist lives with the back of the desk.

Leg well. The standard Sonoma has a full 36-inch leg space. The white and gold NAPA has a 34 by 15 by 27 inch chair well. If someone sits at this desk for eight hours, that number matters more than the marble.

Lockable storage with a payment slot. The Sonoma with glass display and the Sonoma II both have a lockable top cabinet with an open slot, so cash drops in between till runs without unlocking anything.

Drawer and cabinet count. The white and gold NAPA carries four drawers and two cabinets with adjustable shelves. The standard Sonoma has two inside drawers and two side cabinets. Checkout clutter has to go somewhere.

Lighting and finish

Several desks here have integrated LED. The NAPA Square runs a textured front panel over built-in LED that casts a cascading-water shadow effect. The white and gold NAPA uses remote-controlled LED behind a gold inlay front. The 60-inch Sonoma pairs grey mosaic with LED accent lighting.

LED fronts are the closest thing to a photograph-driven purchase in this collection, and they work: the entry is what clients post. Just confirm the outlet position before install.

On durability, the standard Sonoma's white real-wood base is specified as acetone and scratch resistant. In a nail salon that is not a luxury.

Waiting and customer chairs

Six chairs here cover the client side, and they split into two groups.

Rolling chairs let the client move themselves to the table instead of dragging a chair across new flooring. The ESTELLE with rolling base runs a 12.5-inch five-star chrome base with a class-3 gas lift and seat height from 14.5 to 18.3 inches. The DELIA adjusts in three directions: seat height 16.75 to 19.25 inches, a separate recline handle, and floating armrests that travel from 11 to 14 inches so each client can steady their hand on the table.

Fixed chairs suit waiting areas and volume buys. The VERSA II is the buy-six chair for a full manicure row. The GENESIS has a genuinely tall 28-inch backrest, which clients notice around minute forty of a full set, and comes in five colors including sage green and ballerina pink.

If you are outfitting a station rather than a waiting room, the ESTELLE customer chair and technician stool set seats both sides in one order.

Freight and assembly

Reception desks ship by freight and are the heaviest items in this collection. The Avon I ships in 3 cartons at 340 lb. The Nova I ships in 2 cartons at 237 lb. The standard Sonoma and the 60-inch mosaic Sonoma both ship in 3 cartons.

Freight is calculated at checkout. Curbside means the carrier stops at the curb, so for a 340 lb desk in three cartons plan two people, a clear path and an hour. Customer chairs ship by ground and are straightforward.

Suite versus full shop

A suite or compact studio should buy small and spend the difference on the chair behind the desk. The Sonoma II display desk, at 38.5 inches wide, is the compact option here.

A full shop should match the desk to the floor. The Avon, Sonoma and Nova lines each have matching manicure tables, so the entry and the stations read as one room rather than three purchases. If you are buying a line, send the list and we will invoice it together.

Frequently asked questions

What size reception desk do I need?

Measure the wall at your entry, then subtract the door swing and the walking lane. The desks here run from a compact 38.5-inch Sonoma II up to a 74-inch Sonoma. Common sizes sit at 38.5, 44.75, 52.5, 58.75 and 60 inches wide, with heights between 42 and 46 inches and depths around 19.5 to 22 inches. Every figure is on the product page.

Should I buy a desk with a glass retail display?

If you sell retail, yes. A display front merchandises product at the exact point where every client stands to pay. The Sonoma with glass display, the Sonoma II and the Avon I all have one. If you do not sell retail, a clean counter looks better and costs less.

What should I check besides the width?

The leg well, the drawer and cabinet count, and whether the top cabinet locks. The standard Sonoma has a 36-inch leg space and the white and gold NAPA a 34-inch chair well. Both the Sonoma glass display and the Sonoma II have a lockable top cabinet with an open payment slot, which matters if someone works that desk all day.

Do the LED desks need special wiring?

They run on a standard outlet, but the outlet has to be where the desk stands. Confirm the position before install rather than running a cord across the entry.

What is the difference between the customer chairs?

Rolling chairs like the ESTELLE and the DELIA let the client move themselves to the table and adjust height, and the DELIA also adjusts recline and floating armrests. Fixed chairs like the VERSA II and the GENESIS suit waiting areas and volume purchases. The GENESIS has a taller 28-inch backrest for longer appointments.

How are reception desks delivered?

By freight, with freight calculated at checkout, nationwide from a Dallas-Fort Worth base. These are heavy: the Avon I is 340 lb in 3 cartons and the Nova I is 237 lb in 2 cartons. Plan two people and a clear path from the curb.

Can I match the desk to my stations?

Yes. The Avon, Sonoma and Nova lines each have matching manicure tables, so the entry and the floor read as one room. Send us the list and we will put it on a single invoice.
