How to Choose a Manicure Table

A manicure table is where your techs spend the majority of their day, hunched over close detail work. The right one protects their posture, keeps dust out of the air, and holds up to acetone for years.

How to choose a manicure table

  • Ventilation. The biggest decision. A table with a built-in dust collector pulls acrylic and gel dust away from both tech and client at the source. If your salon does heavy acrylic or dip work, integrated ventilation isn't a luxury — it's what keeps your air breathable and your techs healthy long-term.
  • Surface material. Acetone destroys unsealed surfaces. Look for sealed laminate or solid tops rated for salon chemicals; anything that stains or clouds in the first year will look shabby fast.
  • Station count and footprint. Single tables suit suites and solo techs. Double and triple tables save serious floor space and cost per station in higher-volume salons — just confirm your aisle clearance before committing.
  • Storage and wiring. Drawers for files, tips, and polish keep the surface clear. Wiring channels or grommets matter more than people expect once you're running an e-file, lamp, and dust collector from one station.
  • Client-side comfort. A padded armrest at the right height is the difference between a client who relaxes and one who fidgets through the whole service.

Common questions

Do I need a vented table if I have a portable dust collector? A portable unit works, but it occupies surface space and only captures what's directly in front of it. Built-in ventilation pulls from the whole work area and keeps the table clear.

Will the top survive acetone? Sealed commercial tops resist it well. Wipe spills promptly rather than letting them sit, and skip abrasive cleaners that break down the seal.

Does a stool come with the table? Usually sold separately. Browse tech stools to match your table height.

Are replacement parts available? Drawer hardware, dust collector filters, and table components are stocked in our parts collection.
